CR Laine, a full furinture line with high end construction and fabrics and Carolyn's Cottage own line by American Expressions of well prices, quality made hutches, armoirs and occasion tables.

My interest in Interiors began more than 40 years ago while I worked during the summers for an upholsterer in Camden, Maine. There, I learned the craft of making slipcovers, upholstery, and draperies. My love of sewing, fabrics and design led me to obtain a degree in Fashion Design in 1969.

After moving to Damariscotta in 1973 and having two daughters, I began a business out of my home 1977. I started by providing window treatment, wall covering, upholstery, and slipcovers from my own workroom. In doing so, I helped my clients select colors and fabrics and coordinate them with their existing furnishings.

One of my main missions is to discover my clients' needs and desires and to provide them with advice that complements their tastes, but I like to offer ideas for different concepts and colors they may not have considered.


I take great pleasure in offering a full range of services and products anywhere from a single piece to furniture, finishes, window treatment, color selection for an entire house.

As my interiors business has grown, I have expanded my offerings.

In 1998, in response to a growing demand for items not easily obtained locally, I started a branch of Parker Interiors, called The Accessories Shop. This provides a retail business for accessories and gifts for all occasions. Four years ago we moved The Accessories Shop from Newcastle to Damariscotta.

In 2006, I launched a retail branch of Parker Interiors, called Carolyn’s Cottage, selling furnishings for the home. Included in this are beds, chairs, sofas related furniture, lamps, rugs, and other related items.
